That’s nearly every seventh person in the world is using WhatsApp now on a (at least) monthly basis.
Even so and perhaps due to that fact, WhatsApp states that they’ll remain loyal to their original goal:
“ensuring that anyone could stay in touch with family and friends anywhere on the planet, without costs or gimmicks standing in the way”
No doubt, a beneficial perhaps even a noble cause some would say, much appreciated by almost anyone who owns a smartphone these days.
Speaking of costs, just in case you haven’t heard, WhatsApp also stated a few weeks ago they’ll no longer charge for subscription fees.
“For many years, we’ve asked some people to pay a fee for using WhatsApp after their first year. As we’ve grown, we’ve found that this approach hasn’t worked well… So over the next several weeks, we’ll remove fees from the different versions of our app and WhatsApp will no longer charge you for our service.”
